This dip is high protein, low sugar, and has healthy fats- as well as being vegetarian, gluten free, etc. I’ve had this recipe kicking around and made it here and there for years, and couldn’t tell you where it came from. It’s been modified as time went on.
It’s also perfect for packing in lunches as a portable snack. You may not have seen cashew butter anywhere in the past, but you can find it in most health food isles at grocery stores, or at Bulk Food stores- like I got mine at Bulk Barn.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be used just for fruit, could be anything from pretzels, whole grain or graham crackers, used as a sandwich spread, etc. This recipe is very baby/child friendly as well, my daughter LOVED it and was eating it with a spoon along with dipping her fruit in it.
Creamy Nut Butter Dip/Spread
- 1/2 cup Cashew Butter (or you could sub in peanut butter)
- 2/3 Cup Plain, unsweetened greek yogurt
- 2 Tsp Maple Syrup
- Liquid Stevia- 3 squirts from container, or you could use a couple packets
- 1/8 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/8 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/8 Tsp Salt
Throw in all of the ingredients and mix it all up in a mini food processor, or you could use a blender if you don’t have a food processor.
Cut up any fruit for dipping and Serve. I recommend strawberries, bananas or apple slices. It would be great for summer to keep in the fridge, or to bring to an outdoor event.
